Leadership Development

FOUNDATIONS OF AUTHENTIC LEADERSHIP (EXECUTIVE)

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Foundations of Authentic Leadership is a one-on-one structured course designed for senior executives. It will enable participants to build up a comprehensive framework for self-awareness, to develop and articulate a clear understanding of their identity and life purpose and to discover the unique drivers of engagement for their lives. By the end of the course, participants will have developed an actionable plan to enable them to flourish at work and in the wider contexts of their lives. In the interest of adopting a holistic approach to leadership, participants may invite their life partner to join the course. There are two optional modules on completion of the course. The first is designed to take learning from the course deeper, specifically tackling any limiting beliefs that may impede performance at work and to integrate the insight of others through 360 degree interviews and feedback by the course facilitator. The second will introduce diagnostic tools to assess the culture of the participant’s team and evaluate different styles of leadership to inspire and shape team dynamics and culture and motivate performance.

The course is largely insight driven with unique outcomes for each participant. It has been honed over a number of years across fourteen countries and in a variety of languages.

DURATION

Two days (non-consecutive) or eight 90 minutes sessions for the core course. Optional modules each consists of three 90 minutes sessions and one consultancy day for cultural assessment or 360 degree interview and reporting.

OBJECTIVES

Many Leaders do not have a clear understanding of their values and identity and are unable to explain the unique belief systems that shape their behaviour. A lack of self-awareness will eventually undermine their work performance and will negatively affect the way they lead the organisation and engage their people. The Foundations of Authentic Leadership therefore has a fourfold objective:

  1. Learn and adopt a neurological and psychological framework for self-awareness.
  2. Construct an understanding of one’s identity and belief system using the framework.
  3. Apply the insights gained to work expectation and performance and other spheres of life.
  4. Develop an actionable and measurable plan for personal transformation and growth.

The optional modules will build on the core programme with additional objectives as follows:

Module 3a Strengthening Foundations -

  • Uncover underlying causes of limiting beliefs and developing new belief systems to change behaviour.
  • Correlating insights from core programme with 360 degree feedback.

Module 3b Influencing Cultural Transformation -

  • Construct ‘Values Map’ of team/organisation.
  • Develop appropriate leadership strategies and influencing styles to shape desired culture of the team or organisation.

FOUNDATIONS OF AUTHENTIC LEADERSHIP (GROUP)

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Foundations of Authentic Leadership is a structured workshop designed for junior and mid-level executives. There will be optional module to enable the group to conduct ongoing peer mentoring sessions using ‘Action Learning’ sets.

The key difference between the ‘group’ and ‘executive’ programme is that the course is not available on a session basis but only in a workshop format. Participants are expected to gain insights on their own and to formulate their own plans without intervention from the facilitator; although there is an individual session with the facilitator at the end of the course to ensure all the learning objectives have been accomplished. This course is particularly appropriate as part of an onboarding programme or immediately after promotion. Bosses and direct reports should not be on the same programme together unless there is a high level of trust within the team. An open course involving several companies is also possible.

The course is largely insight driven with unique outcomes for each participant. It has been honed over a number of years across fourteen countries and in a variety of languages.

DURATION

Two days (non-consecutive) and one one-to-one 60 minutes coaching session after the second day. The optional session on peer mentoring is a half-day event. The ratio of Facilitators to participants will be capped at six. Large groups are possible as long as there are sufficient facilitators and the venue is large enough to accommodate the participants.

OBJECTIVES

Many Leaders do not have a clear understanding of their values and identity and are unable to explain the unique belief systems that shape their behaviour. A lack of self-awareness will eventually undermine their work performance and will negatively affect the way they lead the organisation and engage their people. 4. Develop an actionable and measurable plan for personal transformation and growth.

The optional module will enable ongoing peer mentoring and has the following objectives:

  • Learning about Action Learning sets.
  • Applying Action Learning in the group context (hands on practice).
